About the Department
Computer Engineering is considered one of the new fields in the engineering world. When computers, whether supercomputers or simple PDAs, started taking over almost all aspects of our life, the necessity for this engineering field was apparent.
Computer Engineering at Ishik University is comprised of a controlled balance between hardware and software classes. Our dynamic curriculum is adjusted according to the regional and global market needs without compromising the theoretical principles with which all engineers should be armed to be ready to pursue an academic career.
At Ishik University, the BS degree in Computer Engineering is a four year program through which students get a mixture of theoretical principles and practical application classes. Graduates can take positions in any commercial company or pursue an MS degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering or IT.
Job opportunities for Computer Engineers are highly available. Telecommunication companies, finance and banking industry, software providers (whether for desktop computers, cell phones, or any other type of computers) and Internet provider companies are among the hunters for computer engineers; however, computer engineers have job opportunities at any place where part or all of the business is achieved by computers, which can be considered “everywhere” in today’s life.
Our Vision
- To produce new ideas and improve existing ones in computer engineering.
- To translate the theories and cutting-edge ideas of the computer engineering field into real-life products for the benefit of humanity.
Our Mission
- To graduate creative computer engineers who can cope with the continuously changing world of computers.
- To provide the students with the morals and ethics necessary in the computer field.
- To develop the team work and leadership skills in the students.
Our Merits and Principles
- Seriousness in teaching
- Providing a suitable environment for learning
- Caring about our students
- Updating the curriculum with the technological advancements in computers
